Happy Sunday lovely humans! I wanted to share a piece of my book for those that have asked to hear more. I will be reading it on my social media accounts as well. This is the rough draft, and I will likely make some tweaks here and there as I see fit. If you have any input let me know what you think! Much love to you all, and I hope you have a blessed Sunday! 😘

March 23rd, 2013 was one of the worst days of my life. It was the day I watched my husband, Dustin, of ten years, and father to my six children take his last breath. I had mixed feelings of relief, happiness, sadness and disbelief. Relief because he was free from the pain and suffering, reduced quality of life, and comatose state the unrelenting brain cancer put him through. Happy, because I knew he could begin his journey in the next life, and be reunited with loved ones that passed before him. Sad because of the obvious. To lose a soulmate, a best friend, a companion is one of the most painful, and heart-wrenching types of sadness that only that person can understand. Disbelief because I knew I had to tell my precious babies that their hero and daddy was gone...that his fight was over, and I had no idea how I was going to do that.

Life was somewhat of a blur over the next week as I planned my soulmates celebration of life. My faith in God's plan, that there was a reason my love had to go so soon, took some of the heartache away, but I still felt as though a piece of me died the day he did. It was as though I was going through the motions at times, some could say. Smiling, when inside I felt empty and lost without my companion.

That first year I was blessed to feel Dustin's presence watching over us often. I would hear his whispers of love and encouragement, and attempted communication with our children. One morning I recall clearly, I was laying in bed in the early summer hours of the morning, the sun kissing my face as I came to. I heard a mans voice in my daughter's bedroom saying "Kayleigh." I jolted up, my heart filled with worry and dread. Then I heard again, and almost as quickly as the worry filled my entire being, it vanished. I knew that voice. It was Dustin. He called to her again. "Kayleeeeiiiigggghhh.....Kay Kay....it's time to get up." She woke with tears welled up in her eyes, as she came to my room to tell me of her experience.

There were many more visits from him, in dream and while awake. He continues to watch over us, and lead us when he can. If it weren't for him, and for the blessings of God, I may not have my sweet fur baby back today. This is my story of love, faith, determination, and standing up for what is right.

I am not what you could consider a writer, but I have a story that I feel like needs to be told. There is life after this. We go through trials for a reason. To grow our character for the next life. If we can all look at trials as a gift of learning, our outlook changes and it gives room for growth. So anyone reading this going through a hard time, I pray blessings come your way and your spirit can be awoken.

From my soul to yours, I love you!

Below is a photo of us at their daddy's resting place. A beautiful private cemetery in Provo, Utah.

Have a blessed day!
