February Has Been Hard
On the 14th, Valentine's Day, my late husband and I would have been married for 20 years. This year has been extra hard without him, as we approach is 10 year freedom day anniversary. This current heartache had me in a dark place I've never felt before, and has made me so much more thankful to have my floofy boy back. He has been a great comfort to me and my children during this time.
This month, I also found out that someone close to my heart has been suffering from an alcohol addiction. As soon as I became aware of this situation I intervened, I started calling, texting and doing what I can from so far away (she's in Utah). I've sat on the phone off and on for pretty much the duration of all of my days, late into the night. Often times until 2 and 3 in the morning. I've requested wellness checks from the police department a handful of times at this point. Until the last time. February 27th, just yesterday. I called one last time. I spoke with dispatch and requested medical go to her apartment. The police almost didn't get a chance to go in, but miraculously, despite her legs not working at the moment, her door opened. They found her in bad shape. She almost lost her life. Her blood pressure was so low, it was "not life sustaining."
It was emotionally draining. I thought I was going to lose her, but God has other plans for her. She is on the mend, and doing well in the hospital while going through the withdrawal process.
Although we started off on a hard note, we did have a lot of great times during this month and I'd say it ended pretty dang awesome! I got lots of snuggles with Atlas. I taught Jake and Kayleigh how to use my camera, and they are naturals!
Kayleigh took the first one down below of Landon, and the rest are all Jacob's work.
Have a blessed day!
XOXO {Aimee} 😘
